I am thankful for so many things in my life; my wonderful kids and my grand daughter, my parents and family, my pets, my friends, just too much. What I am most thankful for is my marriage. These have been the happiest days in my life and I truly married my best friend and I couldn’t image my life without him.
13 years ago we met and instantly became friends – the best of friends. We have known each other for so long, and even though we have had our ups and downs and went through periods where we did not speak to each other, we never forgot about each other – ever. After a few years apart, he was engaged to another woman and planning to marry someone that was not right for him, not meant for him. When she broke off the engagement, he wanted his friend – me. He contacted me and realized that I was the right girl and we have been together ever since. We even married and our 1st wedding anniversary is in December.
I am thankful for the person who holds me when I get broken, gently putting the pieces back together. I am thankful for the one who loves me good or bad, for better or worse, through sickness, sadness and everything single moment of my life. I am thankful for the person who brings me joy and makes me laugh daily, the person I want to spend my time with. I am thankful for the person who never accuses, is always loyal, never jealous or angry, the one who makes me feel like I am the most beautiful woman in the word. I am thankful for my friend, confidant and biggest cheer leader. I am thankful for the one who has always had faith in me and gave me that extra push every time I needed it. I am thankful for the one who protects me and keeps me safe, never raising his voice or hand, never taking me for granted or leaving me behind. I am thankful for the one who holds my hand when I am scared, tucks me in when I am sick or in need, the one who I miss when he is away at work. I am thankful for the love, the support, the laughter, the tears and the frustrations and celebrations that he has brought into my life. I truly married the man I am meant to be with and I couldn’t be happier.
Thank you Dan, for loving me just that way that I am. Words cannot express the way that I feel or deep and true my love for you really is. For you, I am thankful.
